This Privacy Policy explains how Eppcheck Technologies Ltd ("Eppcheck", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you use the Eppcheck website, app and related services.
It applies to Requesters, Eppers, visitors to our website, and people who are the subject of a check or who appear in a report. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and regulations issued under it.
By using Eppcheck, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Eppcheck Technologies Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Eppcheck is a technology platform that connects people and organisations who need something checked in person with vetted individuals, called Eppers, who visit, check and report back.
Checks include property, vehicle, declutter item, address, tenant, hiring, business, construction progress, insurance claim, mystery shopping, event venue and custom checks. Because Eppers visit physical places and collect evidence, we process location information and information about the people, places and things being checked.
To approve Eppers and prevent fraud, we collect:
For Eppers, we collect GPS location when they check in at a job and when they capture photos or videos for a job. We only collect location while a job is active. We do not track Eppers at other times.
For Requesters, we process the addresses and locations you give us as part of a request.
We use location information to match Eppers with nearby jobs, confirm visits, prevent fraud, support safety and resolve disputes.
Eppers capture photos and videos inside the Eppcheck app, stamped with the time and location. Depending on the check, evidence may show properties, vehicles, items, buildings, businesses, documents, and sometimes people who happen to be present. Eppers are instructed to capture only what the check needs.
Some checks involve a person who is not an Eppcheck user, such as a prospective tenant, a job candidate, a seller, a guarantor or a neighbour. We may process their name, phone number, address, workplace, and what they or others say during the check. See section 6.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive the payment status, amount, reference, date, method type and refund information. We do not store full card details.
We keep records of support requests, complaints, disputes, re-check requests, and messages sent through Eppcheck.
IP address, device and browser type, operating system, log and sign-in records, crash reports and similar information needed to run and secure the platform.
Under the NDPA, we rely on one or more of the following, depending on the situation:
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
Tenant and hiring checks only go ahead when the person has agreed to be checked. The Requester either confirms that they have already obtained this agreement, for example in a tenancy application, job application or offer form, or asks us to send the person a consent message. Our message explains who requested the check, what will be checked and how the information will be used, and the person can agree or refuse. If they refuse, the check does not go ahead. We do not tell the person when the visit will happen.
For other checks (such as property, vehicle, declutter item, business or construction checks), Eppers record what is visible at the location and what people choose to tell them. Eppers are instructed not to photograph people unnecessarily.
We do not carry out criminal record or credit checks.
Anyone who believes they appear in an Eppcheck report can contact us to ask what we hold and to exercise their rights under section 15.
We share only what is needed for the job.
If you book a check through a partner, such as a declutter page, we share with that partner the check's status, your Confirm or Reject decision and, where needed to settle the sale, the report. Partners may receive a commission from Eppcheck for checks booked through their link. We do not share your account details with partners beyond what this requires.
When a seller has an item verified, the report can be viewed by anyone with its link for 14 days, so that buyers can see it. Public reports do not show the seller's phone number or exact address.
We use trusted providers for payment processing, cloud hosting and storage, identity and bank-account verification, email and SMS, maps, analytics, customer support and security. They process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
We may disclose information where required by law, for example in response to a court order, a lawful request from a government authority or regulator, or to help investigate fraud.
If Eppcheck is involved in a merger, acquisition, investment or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Eppcheck does not sell personal data. Any data or insight products we develop will use only anonymised, aggregated information that cannot identify any person.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Our standard periods are:
We may keep information longer if it is needed for an open dispute, a fraud investigation or a legal obligation. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
We protect personal information with measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access limited by staff role, two-step verification for staff accounts and activity logs.
No online service can be completely secure. Keep your password safe and tell us straight away if you think your account has been compromised. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to put people at risk, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and affected people as required by law.
Eppers must:
Requesters must have a legitimate and lawful reason for every request. Eppcheck must not be used for surveillance, harassment, stalking, identity theft, fraud, unlawful profiling or any other unlawful purpose. We may refuse or cancel requests that appear to break these rules.
Eppcheck is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly carry out checks designed to collect information about children. If we learn that this has happened, we will take appropriate action, including deleting the information.
We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, keep the platform secure and understand how it is used. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@eppcheck.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time required by law.
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, we will make sure the transfer meets the requirements of the NDPA and that the data stays appropriately protected.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first at hello@eppcheck.com and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we will tell you through the platform, by email or on our website. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.

Effective date: 15 September 2026 · Last updated: 24 October 2026
These Requester Terms govern your use of Eppcheck as a Requester. By creating an account, submitting a request, making a payment or otherwise using Eppcheck as a Requester, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, you must not use Eppcheck as a Requester.
Eppcheck is operated by Eppcheck Technologies Ltd ("Eppcheck", "we", "us" or "our"). Eppcheck is a technology platform that connects people and organisations who need something checked in person with independent, vetted individuals called Eppers, who visit, check and report back with observations, photos, videos and other evidence.
When Eppcheck describes a check or report as verified, it means that a vetted Epper visited, checked in by GPS at the location, captured time-stamped evidence in the Eppcheck app, and that the report passed our review.
It does not mean that Eppcheck guarantees the property, item, vehicle, business or person that was checked, including its ownership, title, value, quality or future condition.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. If you act for a company or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so. We may ask for information to confirm your identity or authority.
You can sign up with your email address and a password, or with Google. Keep your login details safe and do not share them. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
When you create a request, you provide the information needed for the check, such as the address, the type of check, questions or instructions, contact details of the person the Epper should meet, and screenshots of a listing where relevant.
You are responsible for making your request clear, accurate and complete. We may refuse, edit or cancel any request that breaks these Terms, the law or our policies.
You must only use Eppcheck for legitimate and lawful purposes. You must not use Eppcheck for harassment, stalking, intimidation, fraud, unauthorised surveillance, obtaining personal information without a lawful basis, or any other unlawful or abusive purpose.
By requesting a tenant or hiring check, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason for it.
You also confirm that the person knows they will be checked and has agreed to it, for example in your tenancy application, job application or offer form. Getting that agreement is your responsibility.
If you prefer, you can ask us to send the person a consent message for you. The check then starts only after they agree. If they refuse, or do not respond within 3 days, we cancel the request and refund you in full, and your report will show that they declined.
In either case, we never tell the person when the Epper will visit.
Eppcheck does not carry out criminal record or credit checks.
If you are a seller and have an item verified:
We may remove reports and suspend accounts that misuse the badge.
Where a check requires an Epper to enter property, inspect an asset or speak to someone, you are responsible for making sure the necessary permission exists. We cannot guarantee that an Epper will be given access. An Epper will never trespass, force entry, deceive anyone unlawfully or break the law to complete a check.
The full price of a check is shown before you pay. You pay at checkout through our payment provider by card, bank transfer or USSD. Eppcheck does not hold a balance or wallet for you.
Prices depend on the type of check, the speed you choose, the location and any extras you add, such as extra items or rider handover.
Business accounts may be invoiced monthly under a separate business agreement.
Refunds go back to the method you paid with. They usually arrive within 1 to 3 working days, depending on your bank.
You have 48 hours to review a report. You can approve it, or ask for a re-check if it is materially incomplete or does not follow your request. If you do nothing within 48 hours, the report is approved automatically.
When you ask for a re-check, we review the evidence and may ask the Epper for clarification or more evidence, send another Epper, give a partial or full refund, or take other reasonable action. Not every re-check request will lead to a refund.
A report records what an Epper observed, and what they were told, at a particular time and place. It is not a legal, valuation, survey, engineering, medical or other professional opinion. For title searches, valuations or structural assessments, use a qualified professional alongside your report.
You may use reports for your own legitimate personal or business purposes. You must not present a report as a professional certification, alter evidence in a misleading way, attribute statements to Eppcheck that we did not make, or use a report for anything unlawful.
You must comply with Nigerian data protection law when requesting, receiving, storing, using or sharing information obtained through Eppcheck. You must keep confidential any personal or sensitive information in a report, and must not sell or share another person's personal information unless the law allows it.
You must not try to hire an Epper directly for checks you found through Eppcheck, or otherwise get around Eppcheck's platform or payments.
Eppers are independent service providers, not employees of Eppcheck or of you.
You must not request anything that would require an Epper to commit a crime, enter premises without permission, obtain confidential information unlawfully, impersonate anyone, carry out surveillance or harassment, collect sensitive personal information without a lawful basis, bypass security systems, carry weapons or dangerous items, or do anything unsafe. We may cancel such requests immediately and suspend or close the account.
We work to keep Eppcheck available and reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Eppcheck is a platform for collecting and delivering information. You are responsible for deciding whether a report is enough for your decision.
To the extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or affects your rights as a consumer under Nigerian law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act.
We may suspend, restrict or close an account if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, the account is being used fraudulently, a request is unlawful or unsafe, payment has not been made, or suspension is needed to protect anyone. Where appropriate, we will tell you and give you a chance to resolve the issue.
The Eppcheck platform, software, name, logo and designs belong to Eppcheck or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission. You may use reports delivered to you for the purpose of your request.
We may update these Terms. If we make important changes, we will tell you through the platform or by email. Continuing to use Eppcheck after the changes take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be handled by the competent courts of Nigeria, unless the law requires another process.
Eppcheck Technologies Ltd
Effective date: 15 September 2026 · Last updated: 24 October 2026
These Epper Terms govern your participation on Eppcheck as an Epper. An Epper is an individual who accepts and carries out verification, inspection or information-gathering jobs through Eppcheck.
By applying to be an Epper, accepting a job, travelling to a job location, collecting information or submitting a report, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use Eppcheck as an Epper.
Eppcheck is operated by Eppcheck Technologies Ltd ("Eppcheck", "we", "us" or "our"). Eppcheck connects Requesters with Eppers who carry out checks in person. Eppcheck provides job listings, instructions, the in-app check-in, checklist and camera, report submission, quality review and payouts.
Eppcheck does not guarantee any number of jobs, income level or minimum amount of work.
To be an Epper, you must:
You must give accurate information during your application and keep it up to date.
Before you can accept jobs, you agree that Eppcheck may:
Your ID and verification information will never be shown publicly. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your Epper account is personal to you. You must not share your login details, let someone else do a job with your account, create more than one account, or misrepresent who you are.
Changing your payout bank account requires a code sent to your email. You are responsible for activity on your account unless you can show it happened without your permission despite reasonable security.
New Eppers start on probation. For your first 10 jobs, you will only see certain types of jobs, currently address, declutter and vehicle checks. After that, all jobs in your areas open up, subject to your performance.
Before you accept a job, check the location, requirements, deadline, required evidence and payout. Only accept jobs you can complete on time. The exact address and on-site contact are shown only after you accept.
These rules are part of these Terms. We may update them in the app with reasonable notice.
You must complete every job yourself, honestly and professionally, following the instructions. You must go to the correct location, complete the checklist, answer questions accurately, capture the required evidence, write clear notes, and submit the report on time.
Evidence must accurately show what you observed during the job. You must not:
Eppcheck may use metadata, timestamps and location data to verify your submissions.
Accuracy is the most important part of being an Epper. In every report, you must keep these separate:
Never present assumptions, estimates or hearsay as confirmed facts. If you cannot confirm something, mark it as "couldn't confirm" rather than guessing.
You must never submit a report for a job you did not do. You must never accept money, gifts or favours from a seller, agent, property owner or anyone else connected to a job. If anyone offers you anything to change a report, refuse, carry out the check honestly, and report the offer in the app.
Also prohibited:
Breaking these rules leads to loss of payment and permanent removal from Eppcheck, and may be reported to the authorities.
Jobs require location checks. You agree that Eppcheck may collect your location while you have an active job, to confirm attendance, verify the job location, prevent fraud, support your safety and resolve disputes. We do not track your location when you have no active job.
During jobs you may come across personal information about tenants, owners, sellers, employees, customers or others. You must treat it as confidential. You must not collect, record, keep, copy, publish or share personal information unless the job needs it and the instructions and the law allow it.
You must not keep sellers' or other people's phone numbers, or contact them after a job.
Only capture what the job needs. Avoid capturing identifiable people or sensitive information unnecessarily. Never post job photos or videos on social media or anywhere else.
All non-public information you obtain through Eppcheck is confidential, including property, business, financial and personal information, documents, photos, videos, access and security details, Requester information and job instructions. This obligation continues after you stop being an Epper.
Your safety comes first. Eppcheck will never require you to:
If you feel unsafe, stop the job and leave. You will not be penalised for stopping a job for genuine safety reasons. Tell us through the app or call +234 813 515 0949.
Never enter private property without permission. Never pretend to be a police officer, government official, employee, customer or anyone else to get access. If you are refused access, record what happened honestly and report it as instructed.
Always communicate professionally. You must not harass or threaten anyone, ask for inappropriate personal information, try to defraud anyone, offer your own services to people you meet through Eppcheck, or move a job off the platform.
Your payout for each job is shown before you accept it. You earn the payout when the Requester approves the report, or automatically 48 hours after you submit it if the Requester does not respond. Earnings are paid daily, normally by 6:00 pm, to the bank account in your name.
Eppcheck may withhold, reject or adjust a payout where there is credible evidence of fraud, falsified evidence, serious failure to follow instructions, or failure to complete the job. Where a job is partly completed for legitimate reasons, we may pay part of the payout.
Unless we say otherwise for a specific job, you pay your own costs, such as transport and data.
You are responsible for any tax due on your earnings. Eppcheck may withhold or report amounts where the law requires.
You work on Eppcheck as an independent service provider, not as an employee. Nothing in these Terms creates employment, partnership, agency or a joint venture between you and Eppcheck.
The number of jobs available depends on demand, location, job type, your performance and other factors. Eppcheck does not guarantee a minimum number of jobs, minimum income, or that jobs will be available in your area.
We review reports for quality, completeness, accuracy and fraud. We may ask you for clarification or more evidence. We also carry out random spot audits, where a second Epper re-checks a job.
We keep records of your ratings, completion rate, on-time rate, no-shows, quality reviews and complaints. We use them to decide who sees jobs first, to maintain quality and to prevent fraud.
You must not commit fraud, submit false information, manipulate evidence, create fake accounts, use someone else's identity, misuse personal information, harass or threaten anyone, trespass, steal or damage property, try to get around Eppcheck's security or payments, collude with anyone to manipulate the platform, or use Eppcheck for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or permanently close your account if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, submitted false or fraudulent information, manipulated evidence, misused personal data, acted unsafely, repeatedly failed to meet job requirements, received serious or repeated complaints, or otherwise abused the platform. Where needed to protect people or the platform, we may act immediately.
If your account is suspended or closed, you can ask for a review within 14 days by emailing hello@eppcheck.com with any explanation or evidence. We will respond within 10 working days. Removal for proven fraud is final.
If you believe a job was wrongly rejected, marked incomplete or left unpaid, contact us with any relevant evidence. We will review the job records before deciding.
By submitting reports, photos, videos and other job materials, you give Eppcheck a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, reproduce and display them as needed to run the platform, deliver the request, carry out quality control, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. We will not let unrelated third parties use them except as our Privacy Policy, these Terms or the law allow.
You must not try to access another user's account or restricted parts of the platform, reverse engineer or interfere with the platform, introduce malicious software or get around technical restrictions.
To the extent permitted by law, Eppcheck is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including transport incidents, other people's conduct, weather, network failures, refused access or conditions at a job location. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
We may change platform features, job rules, payout structures, eligibility requirements or quality standards where reasonably necessary. If we make important changes to these Terms, we will give reasonable notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be handled by the competent courts of Nigeria, unless the law requires another process.

Eppcheck for business
Send us the addresses. A vetted Epper visits, checks and reports back with photos, video and GPS proof, often within 24 hours.
Loan officers lose days travelling to confirm addresses and shops. Fake addresses and ghost businesses slip through anyway. We send an Epper instead, in any area you lend.
Fast, dated evidence that's fair to everyone: honest customers get paid sooner, and staged claims get caught early. We document the facts. Valuing a loss stays with your adjusters.
A spreadsheet, an email or a WhatsApp message. One address or five hundred.
Each visit is GPS-checked, with time-stamped photos and video taken on site.
Every report with a clear verdict. You pay once a month, not per check.
Tell us which checks you need and roughly how many a month. We'll send you a quote within one working day.
Physical verification
A vetted Epper goes to see it in person and sends you a photo report. Often the same day.

You get a verdict, the checklist, photos and the Epper's notes. Something missing? Ask for a re-check.
An Epper works for you, never for the seller or agent. Here's how we keep it that way.
Government ID and a live selfie, a bank account in their own name and training before their first job. A confirmed guarantor before specialist checks.
GPS check-in at the address and photos taken in the app, stamped with time and location. No gallery uploads.
Eppers see the exact address only after accepting, and never share findings with the seller or agent.
If no Epper is available in time, you get your money back. If a report misses something, we send someone to re-check.
